Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary (APNTS) is pleased to share that Dr. Joy Pring Faraz, Academic Dean, has been selected to participate in the Biblical Field Studies program in Turkey (June 12–20, 2026), an international academic field seminar organized by the Asia Minor Research Center.
Each year, only approximately 15 theological educators worldwide are invited to join this intensive program, which brings together a small cohort of scholars for advanced, on-site study of key New Testament locations, including the cities of the Seven Churches of Revelation and sites associated with the ministry of the Apostle Paul. The program is designed specifically for those whose teaching shapes theological formation in their regions.
The seminar is led by New Testament scholars Dr. Jason Borges (PhD, Durham University, UK) and Dr. Mark Wilson (D.Litt. et Phil., University of South Africa), whose academic work is connected with internationally recognized centers of biblical scholarship and research in early Christianity. Their leadership provides participants with rigorous engagement at the intersection of biblical text, historical geography, and theological reflection.
Dr. Faraz’s participation reflects APNTS’s ongoing commitment to theological scholarship that is globally engaged and contextually grounded. Opportunities such as this strengthen the seminary’s academic mission and enrich its work of forming leaders for faithful service across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
Please join us in giving thanks for this opportunity and in supporting APNTS’s continued contribution to global theological education.
