Recently APNTS library director, Noreen Del Rosario, was part of a world-wide team who was called upon to participate in an important project at Nazarene Theological College in Auckland, New Zealand. Despite being in existence for nearly three years, the campus was lacking a library.
Just because they didn’t have a library didn’t mean they didn’t have books however! For several years, a librarian at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas, USA, had been sending boxes and suitcases full of books for the eventual library. Along with other donations, the result was 5,000 books without a home!
A call was made for librarians to perform the enormous task of organizing and cataloging all of these volumes. Three came from the U.S., and Mrs. Del Rosario from the Philippines. The group worked tirelessly for two weeks to accomplish the goal. Noreen said, “It stretched my library skills beyond their limits. It was really hard work. The impossible was made possible through God’s strength.” A fellow librarian stated it was a miracle they got it all done!
The future pastors and church leaders attending classes in Auckland will benefit greatly from the work that was done by these servants of the Lord. Thank you, Ate Noreen for be willing to serve!
