Congratulations to Ernesto “Chino” Lozano upon the recent recognition of his Doctor of Philosophy degree by the Superintendencia Nacional de Educacion Superior Universitaria (SUNEDU), which is the country of Peru’s equivalent of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in the Philippines.
After receiving his Master of Divinity at APNTS in 2015, in 2020 Lozano earned his PhD in Transformational Learning at APNTS.
His dissertation dealt with the famous Filipino statesman and educator Rafael Palma.
Earlier, SUNEDU had granted recognition to his Master of Divinity degree.
Before granting government recognition for his PhD, SUNEDU undertook an extensive review of Lozano’s transcripts, on-line records, and degree accreditation. SUNEDU also evaluated the standing of APNTS. The recognition by SUNEDU is not only significant to Lozano, but to APNTS itself, and even to the Philippines as Lozano is the first Peruvian to have received a Philippine-government (CHED)-recognized degree also recognized in Peru.
An ordained elder of the Church of the Nazarene, Lozano is also the first member of the Church of the Nazarene in Peru to have received a Peruvian government-recognized doctoral degree earned at an educational institution of the Church of the Nazarene.
Perhaps this achievement will open the doors for more students to attend APNTS.
