Rev. Eileen Ruger, who served as a Field Strategy Coordinator (FSC) for the Church of the Nazarene, will join the APNTS faculty as a Professor in Intercultural Studies and Missions in the coming academic year and will move into the campus this September.
As the FSC she was responsible for overseeing and helping in strategizing and implementing ministries in the field. As a missionary, her work included training church leaders, ministering to the youth and district development. Her experience of more than 10 years pastoring churches in America helped her in ministering to churches outside her country.
After working in the field, Rev. Ruger started serving as a Professor in Southern Nazarene University. Currently, she is teaching cross-cultural courses in the School of Theology and Ministry as well as general education theology classes. She is also the Director of the Center for Global Engagement which helps both faculty members and students of SNU to engage in classes outside the United States.
She is also writing her dissertation to earn her Doctoral Degree in Applied Intercultural Studies from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. She finished Masters of Religious Education and earned a Certificate in Intercultural Studies from Nazarene Theological Seminary in May 1990.
Her 30 years of experience as an ordained elder of the Church of the Nazarene, serving in educational institutions, working in the mission field and doing pastoral ministries will bring great contributions to the seminary. We look forward to having Rev. Ruger in the APNTS family.
