APNTS is pleased to welcome a new member to our Board of Trustees. Attorney Verny Camacho was elected by the Board during its May 2018 meeting to represent the Philippines-Micronesia field, filling a vacancy on the board created by the resignation of Shionel Gesite. Serving as a partner in a Makati law firm, Attorney Camacho brings significant experience and valuable insight to his new role. Along with his representative role, Camacho will also serve as board secretary.
Attorney Camacho is originally from Pangasinan, a province north of Manila. When he was 9 years old, he gave his heart to Jesus which has resulted in a lifelong walk with the Lord. Bro. Verny is married to Riza, a teacher, and they have two children, Vito, 8 years old, and Anya, who is 3. They are involved in ministry at ICF Church of the Nazarene which meets on the campus of APNTS. They both teach Sunday School, working with NYI and the young professionals of the church.
The APNTS Board of Trustees consists of nine elected representatives from the Asia-Pacific Region, and one elected member from South Asia Field on Eurasia Region, Regional Director Dr. Mark Louw and Regional Education Coordinator Dr. John Moore of Asia-Pacific, and APNTS President Dr. Bruce Oldham. General Superintendent in jurisdiction Filimao Chambo and Global Missions Director of the Church of the Nazarene Dr. Vern Ward also serve ex officio, and the six field strategy coordinators of the region sit as non-voting members of the board. The BOT meets annually each May and is responsible for the governance, financial support, and policy oversight of the seminary, ensuring the implementation of its mission, vision, and critical objectives.
