The Doctor of Ministry in Transformational Ministry is a new degree program at APNTS. The first classes will be January 2-12, 2018. This degree is offered specifically for practitioners who are active in the ministry. It is a fully accredited doctoral level degree which accepts those who have had an MDiv or equivalency. Since the MDiv is usually between 75 and 93 credit hours, the student entering this program will have a strong foundation for their studies already in place.
In addition to that, the applicant should have been active in fulltime ministry for at least five years. Due to the strong foundation in biblical, theological and practical studies and the five years or more of experience, this program is offered in 39 credit hours. This consists of seven classes and a Ministry Research Project which is conducted in the student’s ministry setting. Our program costs are exceptionally competitive.
Since it is not an academic degree in the sense of a PhD, there is no dissertation required. The student’s ecclesial context becomes their laboratory for research and for learning. The student stays in their ministry setting and only comes to campus twice a year for two week module classes, usually in January and June.
