Strengthening Theological Education in the Age of AI: A Mesa Global, Langham Publishing, and APNTS Collaboration

Dec 4, 2025 | News

Mesa Global, Langham Publishing, and Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary (APNTS) invite leaders, faculty members, and PhD students to an important hybrid conversation with Dr. Perry Shaw on the growing reality of Artificial Intelligence and its responsible, effective use as a teaching tool in theological education. As AI continues to reshape the global learning environment, this gathering offers a timely opportunity for theological schools to reflect, respond, and reimagine how to faithfully steward emerging technologies in service of formation and mission.

This event is the fruit of a shared vision between Dr. Joanna Feliciano-Soberano, Southeast Asia Consultant for Mesa Global, and Dr. Joy Faraz, Academic Dean of APNTS. Together, they worked on a collaborative initiative that brings key partners Mesa Global, Langham Publishing, and APNTS into conversation to equip educators for the rapidly changing educational landscape. Their commitment to strengthening theological education in Southeast Asia helped bring this learning space to life.

The session will explore how AI is influencing leadership practices, curriculum development, and assessment across theological institutions. Participants will also reflect on the cultural dimensions of teaching and learning, and how educators can navigate new technologies while preserving contextual integrity, academic rigor, and holistic formation.

Hosted by APNTS, this gathering welcomes participants in Metro Manila to join us on campus for a rich in-person experience. A hybrid option is available, and the Zoom link will be sent to all registered attendees.
