APNTS is delighted to welcome our new Work & Witness Coordinators, Kevin and Janet Wilkins to the Asia-Pacific Region. Kevin and Janet arrived in January of this year, and have already made significant contributions to our campus. The Wilkins’ both have a love of missions that dates back 25 years. They began by going on weekend housebuilding trips in Mexico, and soon found that they love cross cultural ministry.
Missions took on a new meaning when they joined the Nazarene church and experienced Work & Witness. They have participated in missions and ministry trips to Mexico, Belize, Bulgaria, Myanmar and Ecuador. They have served as team coordinators and worked with their local church to partner with the Belize Nazarene Church to build preschools for several years. Kevin and Janet are passionate about the relationships that happen when a local church and an overseas church partner to build something. God is at work around the world. Work & Witness gives each one the chance to jump in and be a part of what is already going on.
APNTS is especially excited to participate with Kevin and Janet. With our strategic location here in the Philippines, students from countries in Asia and around the world are able to come and complete their advanced degrees. With Masters and Doctorate Programs, APNTS is committed to being a holistic faith community where diversity of cultures is celebrated and gender equality in leadership and opportunity is embraced. Kevin and Janet are enjoying the rich environment of Pastors and teachers. The Wilkins’ are committed to use the gifts God has given us to help with campus development and Work & Witness Projects.
There is much work to be done. Come to Manila and bring a team. There are both current projects and long-term goals which include dorm renovation, NCEE Building Stairwell Completion, along with plans that are perfect for a local ministry here in the Manila area.
Campus Facilities Painting, Repairing, and Planting – the tropical environment is hard on outside facilities, and the primary classroom buildings and faculty apartments need a facelift and fix-up, with paint, patching, and power wash, along with minor landscaping (plants, flowers, etc.). Different elements of this project can be taken by local/district ministry groups. Contact the Wilkins with any questions you might have.
Campus Clean-up – church youth/NYI and senior high school groups can be involved in a day-long project on the campus to clean up and spruce up the seminary grounds at no cost to individual students. This could be a great time of serving and fun with our seminary students.
Work side-by-side with students from around the world and hear the exciting stories of how God is at work. As you participate with this team, your world will get just a bit smaller as you get to know this young passionate group. You can contact them at Wilkins.kandj@gmail.com for more information.
