Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary (APNTS) is pleased to announce that Dr. Marie Joy Pring-Faraz, APNTS Academic Dean, has been selected as one of the winners of the 2025 Journal of Asian Evangelical Theology (JAET) Essay Prize.

Her essay, “Formed and Sent to the Margins: Companioning the Poor as a Missional Praxis,” was chosen through JAET’s rigorous double-blind peer-review process from among 49 submissions representing 10 countries. The work was recognized for its scholarly excellence, strong alignment with the symposium theme “Formed and Sent: Spiritual Formation and Mission,” and its contribution to JAET’s distinctives of original, evangelical,
and contextually relevant scholarship.

As a prize winner, Dr. Pring-Faraz will receive a $2,000 USD cash award and will present her paper at the Formed and Sent Symposium, to be held on February 5–7, 2026 in Manila, Philippines. Her essay will also be published in an upcoming issue of JAET.

APNTS celebrates this significant achievement and commends Dr. Pring-Faraz for her meaningful contributions to theological education and mission across Asia and the global church.

Congratulations, Dr. Pring-Faraz!
