Asia Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. David Ackerman as Academic Dean.  Dr. Ackerman comes to this position with tremendous experience, including teaching assignments at over ten colleges and universities.  He is an accomplished author, pastor, and missionary and is very familiar with APNTS as a former professor of New Testament. Dr. Larry Bollinger says, “We are thrilled to have Dr. Ackerman join our leadership team.  His wisdom and experience complement his gifts working in cross-cultural contexts.  He will significantly contribute to our beloved institution’s future strategy and direction.”

David serves alongside his wife, Rhonda, who is an ordained minister and the Member Care and Equipping & Engaging Coordinator for the Philippines-Micronesia Field. Their daughter, Shan, lives with them and their son, Joel, lives in Boise, Idaho.

“I am excited to take up this new position as we expand and redefine theological education on the Asia-Pacific region, with APNTS as the key leader. Since the first class I taught in 1998 and over years of being both a full-time professor and adjunct, I have seen the seminary as vital for the development of holiness theology and mission in Asia-Pacific and beyond. I look forward to serving with the great team of faculty, staff, students, and alumni.”
